Chhaava director apologises to Shrike Family

Chhaava has become a huge blockbuster and it is recording big box office numbers. But the movie has been questioned about the historical facts and glorification about many. Now, Shrike family descendant has come forward stating that they would go for Rs.100 crores defamation lawsuit against director and movie.


Shrike family descendant Laxmikant Raje Shirke stated that their family ancestors Ganoji and Kanhoji Shrike have been portrayed wrongly. He stated that their family will be facing humiliation due to the film's portrayal. He asked for the makers to change the scenes and give them the due respect, otherwise, they will file defamation suit for Rs.100 crores.


Laxman Utekar, the director of the film, has apologised to Shrike family. He explained that he did not use family surname and village name for both the characters as he did not want to disrespect them. He continued to state that if the portrayal hurt anyone of the family members of Shrike, he would apologise to them wholeheartedly.


Well, the family members did not react for his apology. For now, the director ended the controversy before it can take even bigger shape. Vicky Kaushal is receiving praises for his portrayal and movie has crossed Rs.350 crores gross worldwide. Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna have played other prominent roles with AR Rahman scoring music.
