Animal movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna has become a smashing blockbuster with close to Rs.900 crores gross at the box office. The runtime of this Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is 3 hours 21 minutes. Even Pushpa 2 runtime is 3 hours 21 minutes. 

It looks like a happy coincidence but now, it rises a doubt if Pushpa 2 can recreate Animal's box office magic. The money involved in theatrical business of Pushpa 2 is double than Animal and it needs to be a huge blockbuster collecting over Rs.1300 crores gross at the box office. 

Sukumar has completed shooting on 26th November and he is working continuously on sound mixing. On the other hand, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna are going around India promoting the film. It is also interesting to notice that Animal protagonist's role is similar to Pushpa's character who will never bow down to anyone. 

Interestingly, Rashmika Mandanna starred as leading lady in both the films. But Sukumar's style of making is different from that of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He loves to go into weird zone for his character while Sandeep loves to highlight heroism. 

Still, Pushpa Raj has already become a brand in Hindi language markets and Sukumar needs to keep that euphoria alive in the second part too. He cannot make it too weird and even take it too eccentric as it can backfire like his Nannaku Prematho, Aarya 2 and 1 Nenokkadine. 

Animal's protagonist character also went into eccentric zone but Sandeep kept enough theatrical heroic moments to overcome it. But Sukumar has been seen carried away by his own ambition and at times indulgent nature in going overboard. 

Mythri Movie Makers need Pushpa 2 to collect more than Kalki, RRR and KGF Chapter 2 to breakeven and hence, the movie needs to have lesser flaws and much more focused celebration of heroism of Pushpa Raj. Let's hope that is the case, even though the team is working sleeplessly till the last moment like the first one.
