Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan premiered in theatres on March 10 and received an overwhelming reception. The release gave the main actor a hat-trick, given to its huge popularity and his previous films, Jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru, which were both critically lauded.

The premiere of ET has made headlines just days after its theatrical release. According to sources, the thriller will be available for streaming on April 7. T he film will be released on both Sun NXT and Netflix at the same time. Though an official confirmation is needed, rumour has it that the film will be released at 12 a.m.

Suriya's first film to be released in theatres since the pandemic is Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Notably, he was the only A-List actor in Kollywood whose projects were released straight on an OTT platform. Formerly titled #Suriya40, the film is directed by Pandiraj and is produced by Sun Pictures, the same production that produced Rajinikanth's Annaatthe.

ET is Priyanka Arul Mohan's second Tamil film, and she is already dubbed "Kollywood's new lucky charm." Her last project, Doctor, in which she co-starred with Sivakarthikeyan, was also a huge success. Vinay Rai, who also appeared in the Sivakarthikeyan film, plays the primary antagonist in Suriya's new film.
