TASC conducts the 2009 Annual Summer Picnic

Family and Friends gathered for a day of fun and frolic at the Annual Summer Picnic organized by The Telugu Association of Southern California (TASC) on May 23rd at the beautiful confines of Heritage Park in Irvine, CA. The event was attended by upwards of 250 members and graced by the Community Leaders Dharma Reddy Gummadi, Subbarao Makkam, Tadi Ramakrishna, Bhathala Chenchayya, and Anil Arrabelli.

The event featured fun and games like running races, limbo, lemon spoon races, hoola-hoop, leg races and cricket for kids of all age groups. Adults pitched in with spirited performances in Volley Ball and Cricket and there was the age old ‘tug of war” between men and women, winners we dare not disclose. Prizes and gift certificates were awarded to the winners and runners-up by Community Leaders Subbarao Makkam, Tadi Ramakrishna and TASC Executive Committee. Hot Breads of Artesia, CA sponsored the Kids Painting contest and provided snacks and refreshments for the event. Lunch was provided by Dosa Place in Tustin, CA. Prizes for the Adult competitions were sponsored by Asian Groceries in Tustin, CA.

The executive committee also extended a special thanks to the Sports and Games chair Ram Yelamanchili, to the Secretary Sreekanth Reddy Komatireddy and to the Treasurer Murali VenkataRamana Reddy for their leadership in the event and to the other Volunteers and Chairs like Sitaram Pamireddy, Vishal Srivastava, Shekar Seera, Raju Vedala, Sagar Yerramshetty, Vamsy Boyanapalli, Anil Macha, Vijay Nekkanti, Prasad Rani and Raghava Parchuri. TASC would like to congratulate the Deccan Chargers for winning the 2009 IPL edition. Go Chargers….
