Save Me

Female Foeticide still prevail in our ‘civilized’ society. Daily, around 2000 foetuses are being aborted and child sex ratio is continuously degrading in the last few decades. Dowry, for buying relations and we ignore ethics. We want mother, sister and wife but not a daughter, and we always say boy and girl are equal. Are we really ‘civilized? Be the change you want to see in the society and transform the nation. Say NO to Dowry, and treat boy and girl equally Be the change Jai Hind………….   Save Me... Voice of an unborn Girl   Lyrics of the Poem:   I am an unborn girl I feel unsafe here I want to live like you Save me…Save me…Save me Am I not eligible for mom’s love? Am I not desirable for Dad’s care? Does my little heart too heavy for earth? Does my nameless soul worthless for birth?   I confuse, people need wife and mother Deny daughter  I depress, my safest place- unsafe With fear of slaughter // this means, the safest place on the earth-Mother’s womb, is unsafe now//   I wonder, why world thinks me a consumer  My counter a producer //this means- “in our society, why a girl is considered as a consumer and boy as a producer but in reality it is not so”// I ponder, can without a girl,  There be a world in future?   I am unsafe till money buys love and relations I am uncertain till you erode ethics and values I am unsound till prejudice won’t sterilize I am insecure till you won’t realize    I love my parents till my last breath And keep loving beyond that...  I am ever to sacrifice for parents suffice //suffice means to satisfy// And I feel honoured for it   You can’t say about my safety outside Leave me, let me be safe inside If I have a last wish before I die... Please, don’t kill me before my first cry…  //this means at least, let her be safe in mother’s womb. Please don’t be inhumane to kill an innocent and silent girl//  Say NO to Dowry and treat boy and girl equally… Be the Change...
