Updated : Oct 25, 2025

Civil Court of Hyderabad, has granted a crucial ad-interim injunction to safeguard the personality and publicity rights of legendary actor and philanthropist, Megastar Chiranjeevi.  King Nagarjuna has already moved to court against misuse of his personality and now, Chiranjeevi got this order against perpetrators. The order bans the unauthorized commercial use of his identity by multiple parties and the general public.

Chiranjeevi sought the court's help to stop widespread unpermitted exploitation of his name, image, voice, and recognizable attributes, including misuse on merchandise, online platforms, and via Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

The injunction specifically prohibits the use of his stage titles, such as "MEGA STAR," "CHIRU," and "ANNAYYA," for commercial or personal gain across any media. The court stressed that such exploitation causes "severe, irreparable harm" to his reputation and financial interests.

To ensure robust enforcement, Chiranjeevi met with Mr. Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad. They discussed initiating criminal proceedings against infringers and the need for "fiercer" penal laws to combat digital exploitation and invasion of privacy. The court's order warns that any infringement will face the strictest civil and criminal remedies.
