Superstar Rajinikanth has lost his interest in films after Padayappa/ Narasimha. He stated that he is retiring after Baba, and entering into politics. But he changed those plans and continued to act after Chandramukhi. He even suffered a big health issue but continued to accept films with gaps in between. 


He did Sivaji, Enthiran/ Robo, Lingaa, Kabali, Kaala, 2.0, Petta, Darbar, Jailer, Vettaiyan, Lal Salaam, Coolie after Chandramukhi. Now, he is finishing his portions for Jailer 2 and has accepted a film to star alongside Kamal Haasan. The reports state that after his film with Kamal Haasan, he will retire as an actor. 


Before his film with Kamal go on floors, he accepted another film with director Sundar C and that will go on floors from February or March, next year. After this project, in the direction of Nelson Dilipkumar, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth film go on floors, say reports. 


Also, as Kamal had to face a loss of Rs.178 crores due to Thug Life debacle, Rajinikanth has offered to act in both these films for Raaj Kamal Films International. While Sundar C film will be a quick comedy entertainer, Nelson's film will be the biggest multi-starrer ever in Tamil Cinema. 


So, daughters of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will produce that film. Well, if the reports are to be believed, it is going to be an end of iconic circle for Rajini. as he started his career with Kamal and director Balachander became guru for both of them.
