Dhanush after being an actor par excellence for two decades has decided to unleash writer-director in him with variety of scripts. He is launching his nephew Pavish Narayan with Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama/ Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam or NEEK. The movie released on 21st February with a lot of anticipation. Let's discuss about it in detail.

Plot:
Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama follows Prabhu (Pavish), a heartbroken young man who meets his childhood classmate, Preethi (Priya Prakash Varrier), as a prospective bride under his parents insistence. Just as he starts considering a future with Preethi, Prabhu receives a wedding invitation from his ex-lover, Nila (Anikha).

This throws him into emotional turmoil, leading Preethi to suggest he attends Nila's wedding to find closure. Prabhu travels to Goa for Nila's wedding, where he embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Will Prabhu rekindle his romance with Nila, or will he return to Preethi with a clearer heart? Or will an unforeseen adventure involving Gen Z kids change everything?

Analysis:
Dhanush has established himself as a good director with Power Paandi and Rayan. This time around too, he took up a very usual and simple story but filled it with relatable moments. We don't feel anything forced and the narrative flow is organic. Each and every character feels fresh and actors have done their best, too.

It is not a film that talks about serious issues but still there is an undercurrent serious emotion that we all connect with. It tries to wake up that young adult in us who fell in love and that got lost in search of himself or herself or them. It is hard to get the tone right and keep it fresh for such films but Dhanush managed to achieve it.

Still, in writing there are usual flaws that we can associate with Dhanush like huge build-up for lesser returns yet the film goes through in a breezy runtime like a crafty magician's band. Even though there are places where you can easily talk about improvement in writing, the director's conviction is so strong that he carries us along the ride.

Pavish Narayanan makes a great impression among all the young cast members. Dhanush extracted the best out of him giving the perfect launchpad. Matthew Thomas is the next best among the ensemble while Priya Prakash Varrier, Anika look cute.

GV Prakash Kumar's songs and background score are a highlight of the film. Production quality could have been better along with editing as some places give jerky feel. Production design is good within the limited budget. On the whole, movie is a breezy rom-com that leaves a good impression upon watching.

In Conclusion:
A young-adult film for everyone!
