Nandamuri Kalyanram and legendary star actress Vijayashanti have come together for the first time for Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi. The movie directed by Pradeep Chilukuri and produced by Ashok Vardhan Muppa and Sunil Balusu released today. The movie has been promoted widely and let's discuss about it in detail.

Plot:
Arjun (Nandamuri Kalyanram) is the biggest gangster in Vizag and he stops any sort of violence happening in the city. His mother, ex-IPS officer Vyjayanthi (Vijayashanti) is the only person, who dares to go against him in the city. But he keeps growing his influence and waits for her to understand him. Commisioner Prakash (Srikanth) takes charge and targets Arjun, immediately.

But Arjun is after Mahamkali (Avinash), who killed his father, a costal guard. He finds out that Red Line Pharma is behind Mahamkali spreading Liquid Ecstasy drug. On the other hand, a Mumbai cruel don, Pathan (Sohail Khan) is after Vyjayanthi. What is his connection with Vyjayanthi and how will Arjun find connections between Red Line Pharma and Pathan? Watch the movie to know more.

Analysis:
Nandamuri Kalyanram did try his best to infuse life to each and every shot. His screen presence is commendable and he did try to carry the film on his shoulders well. Vijayashanti, even though she returned after a gap, her agility and acting prowess are stunning. She did a huge action sequence and stuns us with her commitment.

Sadly, there ends the positives of this routine commercial template film and it starts to frustrate us with its writing. The character arcs of the leads are also underdeveloped and each scene looks like it has been "inspired" from another film of same type. Even at that level, the film fails to engage us with a gripping narrative.

An IPS pass out that too, a top rank holder, turning into a criminal needed to have lot more conviction. The action episodes are also dragged to death, especially, the climax. Each and every scene looks dated and old. The writing needed even better inspiration and depth to really engage us with such a tried and tested tale.

On the whole, the director Pradeep Chilukuri tried to showcase an ideological battle between a mother and a son but he couldn't convince us. Ajaneesh Lokanath's BGM and Production values are good but really nothing worked to make us sit and take a note. It is time to reinvent commercial formula for Telugu Cinema has this sort of packaging is getting old and tedious.

In Conclusion:
Arjun fails to impress us even though he tries a little bit too hard.
