WAR 2 marks the return of YRF Spy Universe and Hrithik Roshan's Kabir after a blockbuster like WAR. The movie adding to the excitement cast Jr. NTR in another leading role along with Hrithik. Ayan Mukherji after an impressive Brahmastra, is directing WAR 2, taking forward the revered Spy Universe post Pathaan, Tiger 3. Kiara Advani's bikini shots have already created huge buzz with HR and NTR in full paisa vasool action avatars. Let's discuss about the movie in detail.

Plot:

Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) turns rogue against Indian R&AW agency to team up with Kali, a dark nexus of Indian Neighbouring countries. To enter into it, he needs to kill his boss Colonel Luthra (Ashutosh Rana) and upon Luthra's insistence, he does the job. But he gets to know that there are forces within India that are helping Kali.

As Luthra is dead, his daughter Kavya (Kiara Advani) joins R&AW to avenge his death against Kabir. Vikrant (Anil Kapoor) takes over as R&AW chief. He appoints Agent Vikram (NTR) to hunt down Kabir. Only Vikram is able to go near him but they have an emotional connection. What is it? How will Kabir win over Kali as Kalki?

Analysis:

Jr. NTR is firecracker in this movie. He is able to convince everyone as an anti-hero and his performance is the main highlight of the movie. Hrithik Roshan is good as usual in Kabir role but more emotional depth was expected for his character. Still, looking both the explosive stars on screen is worth of ticket money.

Kiara Advani is stunning but her role has been underwritten. Her bikini scenes gave much needed glamour to the film, in second hour. The focussed narrative from start to finish and high voltage action scenes are major highlights after performances.

Each action sequence stands out and NTR with his physique and great flexibility matched the Greek God level looks of Hrithik. Also, in the dance moves and action sequences both of them have matched each other's energy. But the plot lacks novelty as YRF Spy Universe movies have been using this kind of template from long.

There is a slight deviation from earlier films and similarities with WAR story which appears to be a major drawback. While the movie is eventful, emotional beats take predictable turns and that could have been ironed with even tighter screenplay. Family audiences might not be in awe of such action oriented outlook but movie packs a punch for action lovers in style.

Bottomline:

Action Lovers will enjoy this power-packed ride.
