TTD action on Nayantara wearing sandals at Tirumala Mada Street
Updated : Jun 11, 2022
Nayantara and Vignesh Sivan, a newlywed couple who visited Tirupati Venkasteswara Swamy after their marriage, are embroiled in a controversy. Following the darshan, the couple is said to have walked the streets near the Srivari temple on Tirumala hill. Despite the fact that Vignesh had left his footwear at home, Nayantara was out and about in the streets wearing her sandals. They also snapped some photos at the Srivari temple's main entrance.
As a result, the couple's actions disturbed the sanctity of the Tirumala and hurt the devotees' feelings. This has resulted in considerable criticism on the couple. The Tirumala Tirupati Temple (TTD) has expressed its dissatisfaction with the deal. TTD PVSO Narasimha Kishore stated that the Nayantara couple had received notices for violating Tirumala's sanctity.
Nayantara also apologised to the TTD over the phone for hurting the devotees' feelings. He stated that Nayantara-Vignesh had apologised for their unintentional mistake. However, the TTD CEO stated that he will address the situation with the chairman and take appropriate action. The couple will react to the notices and choose their next steps. Finally, he urged that the traditions be followed by the elite as well.
