Manchu Vishnu clarifies about Mohan Babu University ban and fine

The news reports about APHERMC recommedations with regards to a fee scam in Mohan Babu University have shocked many. The commission has imposed a fine of Rs.15 lakhs and asked them to pay back Rs.26 crores, they charged over 3 years from students over the accepted limit, in 15 days.

They even proposed to revoke the University recognition. Manchu Vishnu, who is taking care of the operations of the university clarified the matter stating that it is sub judice and they have been fighting against these recommendations in High Court. He expressed his dissastifaction in the commission making them official.

In the open letter, Manchu Vishnu stated:

MBU has strongly objected to the recommendations made by the Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APHERMC), which have been circulating in the media. MBU emphasized that these are merely recommendations and are currently sub judice in the Honorable Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The University noted that the High Court has already issued a stay order in favor of MBU, challenging the APHERMC's recommendations. MBU expressed disappointment that APHERMC posted the recommendations on its portal despite the court's stay order. The University firmly believes the recommendations are incorrect and trusts that the High Court will deliver justice.

Pro-Chancellor Vishnu Manchu stated that MBU continues its mission to provide world-class, holistic education under the guidance of Chancellor Dr. M. Mohan Babu. MBU, cited as one of India's top educational institutions, is recognized for achieving the highest placements and salary packages for students in Andhra Pradesh.

MBU maintains a strong social commitment, having offered free education, full scholarships to children of armed forces and police personnel, and care for orphans since the Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust's founding in 1992.

The University's academic excellence is reflected in its joint degree program with QS 100-ranked Penn State University (USA), making it the first Indian university to do so. MBU urges the public and media not to believe these unfounded reports.
