MAA serious action on Trollers who involve actors family
Updated : Jul 17, 2024
Representatives of the Movie Artist Association (MAA) have lodged a complaint with Telangana DGP Jitender regarding the arrest of social media trolls targeting movie artists. The MAA, acknowledging the prevalence of trolling on social platforms, has taken proactive measures to address the issue.
During their meeting with DGP Jitender, assurances were given that a specialized cyber security cell would be dedicated to handling these cases. The department, in collaboration with Tollywood, has vowed to take decisive action against offenders. The DGP sternly warned trolls about the limits of acceptable behavior.
Later, Rajiv Kanakala addressed the media, stating, "Trolling should be in good humor, without being offensive. Targeting family members is unacceptable. Trolling actors beyond a certain point will not be tolerated."
Shiva Balaji added, "We have provided a list of approximately 200 YouTube channels to the DGP, who responded positively. Such extreme trolling is akin to terrorism. A specialized cyber security wing will closely monitor these activities."
Shiva Krishna emphasized, "Female artists are disproportionately affected by trolling, which often degrades their character. Some individuals engage in this behavior solely for financial gain through YouTube channels. Such trolling spans across politics, cinema, and journalism."
