Love Me showcases my acting transition from boy to man: Ashish
Updated : May 22, 2024
The film 'Love Me,' produced by Harshith Reddy, Hansitha, and Naga Mallidi under the banner of Dil Raju Productions, features talented actors Ashish and Vaishnavi Chaitanya as the leads and is presented by Shirish. Directed by Arun Bhimavarapu, the film carries the tag 'If You Dare.' This horror thriller is set for a grand worldwide release on May 25. Here are excerpts from an interview with hero Ashish about the film.
How is your character going to be in the movie 'Love Me'?
"Unlike my previous films, 'Love Me' features a darker, more unique character. I play a role where I advise people against doing certain things. In this movie, I appear as a YouTuber who does insane stunts and uploads it on YouTube, and one of these stories relates to a ghost. The film revolves around what happens in his life after encountering this ghost story. I had extensive discussions with director Arun to understand how he envisioned my character. My character is unpredictable and tells others to be themselves."
Who will appear as a ghost in the movie 'Love Me If You Dare'?
"Divyavathi plays the role of a ghost in our movie. Vaishnavi will be seen as another heroine. The film features five heroines, though not all appear throughout the entire movie. Some make brief guest appearances."
About director Arun Bhimavarapu?
"Director Arun is a novelist with a very calm demeanor. He narrates his stories well, and I loved how he described my character when he told me the story of 'Love Me.' I appreciate his unique perspective on things, including elements like talking to the ghost and romancing. Without the reference from Dilraju garu, the director and our producer Naga garu presented the story to PC Sriram, who immediately agreed to make the film. Similarly, Keeravani also agreed to compose the music. Their involvement indicated the story's novelty. We initially decided to shoot for 15 days to see the output. The results gave us goosebumps in some scenes, and others felt natural, so we continued with the film."
Have you seen any ghost movies before making this movie?
"I have seen many movies like 'Chandramukhi' and 'Muni.' Every character in this film has a problem, and mine is a problem-solving character. Horror is just a part of it; it also has a good love story. This is not a revenge story. Vaishnavi is not a ghost in this. There are many surprises in the movie. After watching 'Love Me,' the audience will feel they have seen a new and different movie."
How was it working with star technicians like PC Sriram and MM Keeravaani?
"Keeravaani did not need to come to the shooting, so he came to the sets only once. I felt tense on the first day working with PC Sriram garu because this is only the second film for both Vaishnavi and me. We thought he might be critical if we didn't perform well, but he didn't put any pressure on us. After talking to him, we felt at ease."
Will there be a sequel?
"There is a good twist in the climax of 'Love Me,' suggesting a sequel. However, we haven't planned for one. That decision should be made by Dilraju garu."
Working experience with Vaishnavi?
"Vaishnavi, Ravikishan, Simran, Naga, Arun, and I have all done one film each. We all felt like students. Vaishnavi and I would discuss how to approach each other's characters, making the shoot enjoyable. Vaishnavi is a great co-star. We had better clarity from reading the script together and traveling together."
What are your next movies?
"After completing the film 'Selfish,' I will be working on a film under the Sitara Entertainments banner."
