Ajith Kumar gives way to Game Changer?
Updated : Oct 25, 2024
Ajith Kumar is one of the biggest stars of Tamil Cinema. He is on parallel with Thalapathy Vijay in terms of popularity. Market wise he did not find such universally acceptable films like Vijay in last decade and hence, his market stalled a bit. But his blockbuster Viswasam could take on Rajinikanth's Petta and rock at box office.
Ajith and Vijay have a habit of releasing their films for big holidays like Diwali or Pongal. In fact, when Vijay wanted a solo release date for Pongal with Varisu, Ajith's Thunivu came for clash and both did make money in Tamil Nadu. But post that clash, Vijay did not go for festival dates with Leo and The Greatest of All Time.
On the other hand, Ajith took break for a year and started working on Vidaa Muyarchi for Lyca Productions with Magizh Thirumeni and Good Bad Ugly with Adhik Ravichandran. Interestingly, Good Bad Ugly is being produced by Telugu producers Mythri Movie Makers.
Vidaa Muyarchi was expected to release for Diwali and GBU for Pongal. Later, rumors started to float that Vidaa Muyarchi could take Pongal date and GBU Summer date. Now, it is being said that as Game Changer is set to release for Sankranti/Pongal, both films won't be coming for the festival.
Lyca Productions have Indian 3 with Shankar and they don't want to clash with his film at this moment. At the same time, Mythri Movie Makers are producing RC16 and they don't want to be on bad terms with Ram Charan. As Game Changer is being directed by Shankar starring Ram Charan, both the production houses are looking for next available dates, it seems.
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar is busy shooting for Good Bad Ugly in Spain and he would finish his portions as per plan. Post completion, he is set to restart his racing career and participate in European Racing Championships while he also owns a racing team. Fans of Ajith, might have to wait for few more months to watch their idol on big screen.
