Aamir Khan, one of the biggest stars of Indian Cinema, has struggled to excite audiences with his dream project Lal Singh Chaddha. The movie had a very popular sound track composed by an ace composer like Pritam yet, it opened low. Now, his Sitaare Zameen Par bookings are shocking trade pundits further.

Movie is publicised as in-principle sequel to Taare Zameen Par and it should have helped in bookings for this new film, at least in Urban and Metropolitan centres. But the film is struggling in Mumbai, Delhi circuits as well, where Aamir Khan films like Dangal, PK have taken solid openings.

Sitaare Zameen Par's trailer did not click as anticipated but Aamir Khan has been promoting it at a full swing. He even brought in Shah Rukh Khan to meet all the special actors on sets and released the video a day-before, yet the bookings are low. Maybe the actor could not really generate the buzz that he normally does well.

The film has just sold 20k tickets in National chains and final number is predicted to be 45k by early morning show. The prediction is close to Rs.6.5 to 8 crores on Day 1 and it is too low for an actor of Aamir Khan stature where, a minimum of 20 crores, would've been a given in 2010's for him.

He is in talks with Coolie director Lokesh Kanagaraj's next after Kaithi 2, for a superhero film. But the actor needs a solid hit at the box office, to be able mobilize huge funds that such a big budget film would require. For Sitaare Zameen Par, the movie needs high positive word of mouth to create any stir at the BO. Let's wait and see.
