Actor Aadi Pinisetty Share His Thoughts

Many actors from Tamil cinema have said that they would work in a Telugu film some day but Aadi Pinisetty, son of director Raviraja Pinisetty, settled in Chennai has made a quiet debut in Lakshmi Prasanna's 'Gundello Godaari'. The actor says that it is not entirely his film and that he did it for producer Lakshmi and Mohan Babu with whom his dad was associated with. The story is about a village that gets submerged in water overnight. The actor who plays Malli, a fisherman, almost drowned shooting one of the scenes. He narrates his water woes, “It was very scary. We were drowning and people were approaching us to give help. The structure of the village is set up in 4-5 acres of land and the water is let inside and we shot there. Once the water is full and a layer has been formed you cannot clear any stuff like the nails, rods, wooden planks. Its not just me, the light men too were injured. I kept joking that if were to go to hell and get punished, it would hardly matter as I had already gone through hell during my film shootings. For 'Ekaveera' they made me ride horses and jump over trees barefoot, and now this drowning in Gundello”.

Aadi adds that currently some under water CG shots are taking place and with that his portion is over. He has been here in Hyderabad for over two and a half months now though not at a stretch. He reminisces, “I can swim in a pool but I guess every body does have a phobia when left in middle of Godavari on a small boat to row and when the underwater currents are high. We are passing a bridge and another fisherman who wasn't visible on the camera gave a running commentary : Sir ikkada ninne  iddaru padi chachipoyaru(that this was the place where the previous night a couple fell and died). The depth was nearly 100 ft and at that moment when the camera was rolling my heart skipped a beat. I felt like the title was apt, it was truly a 'Gundello Godaari'.

The actor has resolved to work peacefully with scripts that deal with romance and other less physically strenuous plots. “In Tamil films too we have normal movies and only those stories crafted for national and international awards lay emphasis on realistic performances where injuries are imperative. That is why many people feel that Tamil cinema is raw and realistic”. He confesses that initially he was uncomfortable about working in a Telugu film but once he got to the sets it was an enjoyable experience. He quips “I am getting Telugu offers but am being choosy not because I don't trust the narrator but I doubt if I will be able to live up to the story and the expectations. 'Gundello Godari' is on one hand an adventure film and I have also wrapped up my portion for Rajinikanth's 'Kochadiyan', a 3D film. I had two and a half days work with Rajinikanth where I had to hold his shoulders and say you are my friend man! It was an amazing experience”.
