Introduction

Sumanth is coming up with Raaj movie after Golconda High School and Raaj movie review certainly carries some curiosity. Sumanth, who has been struggling for a hit in Telugu cinema got critical acclamation with Golconda High School movie and could breathe easy. But let's find out Raaj review to know whether Sumanth can sustain this breathing space.

Story:

Raaj (sumanth) is a fashion photographer and he reluctantly gets married to Mythili (priyamani). Raj happens to be in love with a model Priya (Vimala Raman), who leaves him one day without giving any reason and her whereabouts are not known. Raaj doesn't tell anything to Mythili about Priya. Initially Raaj keeps distance from his wife but they get intimate after some time and start living happily. However, Raaj is still enthusiastic about knowing why Priya has left him. Raaj lies to his wife that he is going to London and tries to find Priya. Why Priya left Raaj abruptly, who is she... what happens to her in the end, is unfolded on the screen.

Analysis :

There is nothing new in the Raaj movie story. Going by the track record of Raaj director V N Aditya, one can't stop wondering "what he's actually upto?" His story narration, screenplay and taking of shots seem to begin with saying "as you already know it!" At no point of time in the movie, the director could generate an iota of audience's interest in the movie. Not even the blatant skin show by both the gorgeous heroines could do much than gratifying the leering frontbenchers.

Performances: Sumanth looks completely drab and uninterested. His disposition doesn't go well along with his roles, neither as a fashion photographer nor as a lover. Performance wise, the only saving grace is Priyamani. She excelled in the scenes where she seduces her husband Raaj. Vimala Raman also performed well within the scope of her role. The child artiste who played kid Vimala Raman could turn out in to a promising artiste in future if she gets the chance.

Ali's comedy track is unimpressive. The music by Koti could only provide some routine tunes, which are forgettable once you go in to the next scene. Re-mixing of 'Bheemavaram bullodu' song too fails to elevate the mood of both the performers and the audience. The Camera work in this movie is a bit sensible, pleasing and not taxable on the eyes.

Dialogues:- Director Aditya, who also penned dialogues for this movie, tried to come out with some good dialogues and has been successful to some extent.

Lyrics: Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry as usual penned good lyrics, but other aspects of the songs mar the beauty in them.

Editing: The movie is poorly edited. Perhaps the film's makers were in a hurry to wind up the plot in the second half and that has led to the inconsistency in editing. Choreography: Average choreography, though Priyamani and Vimala Raman's hip-gyrations in 'Bheemavaram bulloda...' re-mix song are predominantly titillating. Action: Well composed fight scenes and thrilling at some places, only if you have belief in the hero of the movie.

TeluguOne Perspective :

"An average movie, with plenty of skin show and on-screen smooching. Watching this movie entirely depends on your choice and providence."
