Krishna (Ramesh) is from a noble family and his father (Nizhalgal Ravi) runs a departmental stores. Though several girls are after him, he does not look at them and waits for a girl, who could impress him and move his heart. On the other side, there is a local goon Ashok (Vincent Ashokan), who loves his niece Anjali (Namita) and the love is so strong that he would not spare anyone who dares to look at her. Once Krishna comes across Gita (Gajala) and falls in love with her. He impresses her by doing favours but he never appeared before her. With the advice of Rayaseema Reddy (Vivek) he writes a love letter and sends it to Gita, which reaches her father (Tilagan). In order to teach a lesson to Krishna, Gita's father diverts that letter to Anjali. As per the letter, Anjali goes to a restaurant and watches Krishna and loses her heart to him. On information, Ashok sends his goons to attack Krishna, but the latter teaches them a lesson. Later, Krishna reveals that he did never write a letter to Anjali and has no intention to love her. But Anjali continues to love him. Accidentally, Krishna and Gita meet at a temple and the love blossoms. But Gita's father does not accept their love. Thinking that Gita is the obstacle for her love, Anjali plays a double game. She agrees to marry Ashok and tells him that she wants Gita's head as her marriage gift. However, Krishna comes to Gita's rescue and thrashes Ashok and his henchmen. In the climax, Anjali threatens to kill Gita and demands that Krishna marry her. But he refuses to marry her even if she kills Gita. Unable to accept the failure, Anjali commits suicide and the film ends on a happy note with the union of Krishna and Gita.

Analysis :

Action scenes choreographed by Dalapati Dinesh can be said to be a highlight of the movie. Though they were quite cinematic and had a lot of thread work and graphic work, to certain extent the audiences felt relaxed with those action scenes. Vivek's comedy is the other highlight of the movie. He really proved his mettle and once again showed his fantastic comedy timing in keeping the audiences in good humour. Namita did not show any inhibition in exposing her beauty before the camera in a couple of songs. Gajala is also okay as a family girl and looked homely in the songs. The performance, body language of the hero is a big minus for the film. None of the songs were synchronised with the dances. Either the song runs slow or the movements of the artistes were fast or vice-versa. The villain did a little over-action and failed to impress the audiences. However, his performance in the climax is a little better. The person who handled the screenplay is very poor in scripting it and many scenes have no proper linkage. The running of the film is boring and the director failed to establish the love between Namita and Ramesh, though it was one sided.

TeluguOne Perspective :

At a time when the entire story revolves round the triangular love, there is no point in giving the film a title as 'Pogarubothu' and there is no title justification. Ramesh should improve his body language and improve his performance. Moreover, he should put more effort in giving expressions correctly. Though Tilagan gave a memorable performance in a character that is similar to Chanakya but his performance went unnoticed in an unimpressive narration. All in all, a film which can be conveniently ignored.
