Sachin (Rohit), is fond of cricket. His father Chalapati (Chalapathi Rao) is a Minister's car driver. Once he challenges Rajiv (Rajeev Kanakala), son of the Irrigation Minister (Devadas Kanakala), and defeats him and his team in the cricket. Vithal Rao (Benarjee), a cricket coach notices the talent in Sachin and convinces him to impersonate Rajiv to play in a match against Delhi team. GK Naidu (Vizag Prasad) is one of the selectors of the Indian cricket team. In order to catch his glimpse, Sachin starts roaming around his daughter Rekha (Rekha). Soon they both fall in love. However, GK Naidu is under the impression that it is Rajiv who played well against Delhi team. Later, Vithal Rao reveals the truth to GK Naidu and convinces him to select Sachin. The latter passes the test and gets qualified in the team.Rekha hates cricket, because she feels that her father loves cricket more than her. When she finds that Sachin is fond of cricket, she slaps him. Unable to digest this insult he starts to booze. GK. Naidu removes Sachin from the list of players selected to play for India. Since there is no hope for Sachin to join Indian cricket team. He forgets cricket and concentrates on studies and passes his degree examination. Noticing the real sportsmanship in him, Rekha realizes her folly and again starts loving him. During the selection of a team for a junior’s match between India and Pakistan, GK Naidu selects Rajiv in place of Sachin. While announcing this decision, the Hyderabad Cricket team's president, secretary and caption arrive at the scene and raise objection. They demand the selection of Sachin and due to the pressure from all sides GK Naidu selects Sachin. Unable to digest this, Rajiv mixes sedatives in the water and Sachin who drinks the water almost loses his consciousness. But the urge in him to play for India, makes him to take a drastic decision. So he draws the Indian flag on his chest with a broken glass (a bit over done) and regains his consciousness. He plays for India against Pakistan and emerges successful by leading his team to a victory, which forms the climax of the story.

Analysis :

Rohit gave good performance. Rekha was limited to songs and dances only. They did well in dance sequences. Chalapati Rao, Sangeetha as parents of Rohit, Benarjee as coach and Vizag Prasad as selector also did well. Comedy track by D. Subrahmanyam and Gundu Hanumantha Rao was average. Music by Chakri is impressive.

TeluguOne Perspective :

Director LP Ramarao (debut) could not get a good hold either on the story or the screenplay. The film depicts how politics influence the selector's board, and how the real talent is suppressed. Though the movie has a good story, ineffective screenplay and direction weakens the grip on the story.
