Updated : Oct 3, 2025
Thalapathy Vijay is facing huge amount of political backlash and even social media is filled with huge amount of smear campaigns against him after Karur stampede. Entire Kollywood has stopped any sort of public events for the moment as more than 40 people lost their lives in the stampede.
Now, Vijay has expressed his disinterest to conduct Jana Nayagan audio event on a massive scale, say reports. According to them, he asked producers KVN Productions to hold back the release of first single, scheduled for Diwali. He even asked them to stop active preparation for audio launch event in Malaysia.
Currently, he is working on the next strategy to continue his political journey and raodtrips. As this incident would be brought out to deny permissions and even there would be lots of different restrictions going further, he is busy planning out the schedule and even all sorts of logistical needs going forward.
Thalapathy Vijay's major concern at this moment is surrounding his political journey with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, TVK, and he needs a big image reversal after Karur Stampede. Hence, he is working out on it and postponed his film related activities for time being, say reports.
Jana Nayagan is scheduled for a wide release on 9th January 2026 for Pongal. The movie is stated to be a remake of NBK's Bhagavanth Kesari and directed by H. Vinoth. Mamitha Baiju is playing a prominent role in it with Pooja Hegde playing the leading lady.
