| Samshabad IA: Trial run of flights within 5 months |
World class airport goes functional by the end of 2007. However, AAI (Airport Authority of India) takes on the duties testing all the departments. March 2008 is the deadline to start business in the Samshabad International Airport and flights will be fully operational.

Travelers can board the aircraft at the Passenger Boarding Bride itself, which is connected to terminal. 75% of airplanes can be parked beside the PBBs. 90% of passengers can use the boarding bridges.
GMR is planning to build budget hotels for those who stay for short time (6 to 8 hrs-checkout) during transit halt since the airport is far from the city.
Officials said that GMR is planning to complete the works for quick launching of Samshabad IA even before that of Bangalore IA. The airport would remain as a landmark of world aviation, they said. |
