“We like to party”,
the song from Vengaboys says what we all actually like to do. Parties,
loud and rocking music, dancing all night, drinking and what not.
Well, we know drinking, smoking and doping is harmful for our health.
But are you aware how much harm can loud music do? In short, a lot.
Well, this time I am here with a friendly
piece for you guys. Just to inform you how can your favourite rocking
and blasting music gradually affect your health. From the creation
of the seven suras, that is, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Da Ni Sa; music has
been loved by one and all. In India it all started with soft and
classical music. Loud and pop music came from the West. Soon rocking
music was started being made in India too. Presently, any song from
a movie or a private album has its own remixed version made, because
the music sells that way. Remix means adding heavy music to an already
recorded one. The people forget the actual song and really enjoy
the loud music. At pubs, parties and discs loud music is played
for long hours. It is fun, but do you guys realize in the long run
this exposure to loud music will be the cause for early hearing
impairment. Well, it is a gradual process but still an irreparable
damage.
Normally, our ears can hear noise
measuring 90 decibels, maximum range is 95 decibels. The life of
our ears lessens by hours by the amount of extra decibels we are
exposed to. Prolonged exposure to loud music is injurious for ears.
Pubbing thrice a week for 3-4 hours each day is normal but not good
for future prospects.
Though, youngsters deny any hearing
problem, but the problem actually starts at that stage. Small minute
sounds like the phone vibrating, TV at low volume, door screeching,
baby mourning cannot be heard in the beginning stages.
Regular partying crowd, DJs, hosts,
people working at pubs, big factories, and musicians are more prone
to hearing loss. Some people assume the hearing loss to be a temporary
one. The pub owners knowing the risk involved in playing loud and
blasting music make sure the sound engineers of the pub keep the
noise under control. The highest volume is raised upto 94 decibels.
Still guys it is four decibels more than the normal range. The proportion
is like One Decibel is equal to Four Hours of Hearing.
The youngsters here don’t think
that loud music causes any harm to them. They are all busy yapping
ignoring the hindrance caused by loud noise. Majority of them say
that the music only becomes bad when they stand somewhere close
to the sound system or the speakers. Hence, the greater part of
the crowd is not aware of the loss that they would suffer from.
The only remedy would be to avoid
lingering exposure to loud noise. Who would like to hang around
with a hearing aid? So take care guys. It is never too late. Party,
but not hard.
