Modern Missamma is being produced under the Lasya & Mithuna Creations banner by Chiranjeevi Pamidi, Shiva Pamidi, Kiran Kumar Nalluri and Sravanthi Namburi. Sai Baba has provided the story and screenplay and is also directing the film. Harsha Narra, Tanmayi Khushi, Siju AR, Pramodini, Harika, Dr. Bhadram, Shivannarayana, Rakesh Rachakonda and others play key roles.
The cinematography is handled by Sheshu Raj Daddala and Vijay Pidapa, while Aditya Papishetty is the editor and Balakrishna is the choreographer. Harikrishna Jagurothi heads the script department. Somesh Eripalli serves as the VFX Director and G. Pawan Kalyan is the Sound Designer. Upputholla Babu (Bobby) is the Executive Producer.
The grand launch event of the film’s first single was held on Wednesday at Prasads Labs in Hyderabad. The song, composed by music director Gopi Sundar, features lyrics penned by Kittu Vissapragada. Titled ‘Better Be A Missamma’, the song showcases Harsha Narra in traditional Dhoti attire and Tanmayi Khushi in a traditional outfit. The song, which revolves around the heroine expressing her reluctance towards marriage, is designed to connect strongly with women.
Speaking at the event, ‘Vadala’ producer Kishore Naidu said, “I recently watched the premiere of this film. Whenever I watch a movie, I usually look for flaws, but I couldn’t find even a single one in this film. I am confident that everyone who watches ‘Modern Missamma’ will enjoy it. Dr. Bhadram’s character, in particular, is extremely hilarious.”
Hero Harsha Narra said, “After ‘Missing’ and ‘Roti Kapada Romance’, this is my third film. Both those films did not perform well commercially, but my struggle will never stop. I will continue to work hard. We didn’t make this film just with hard work; we made it with passion and love. The entire team worked like a group of friends. Tanmayi has performed extremely well. Gopi Sundar sir has given wonderful music for this song, and Kittu Vissapragada’s lyrics are something everyone can relate to. The film too will connect with audiences.”
Heroine Tanmayi Khushi said, “‘Modern Missamma’ is the film I acted in after ‘23’. Back then, the song ‘Vaddura Sodaraa’ from Nagarjuna garu’s ‘Manmadhudu’ connected strongly with men. In the same way, I believe our song will connect with women today. I am very happy that the director has written this story from a woman’s point of view. My character will definitely connect with everyone.”
Director Sai Baba said, “I am very happy with the response to this song. Elders often say, ‘Build a house, conduct a marriage, and see how it feels.’ I would like to add one more thing to that — ‘Make a film and see.’ I believe all three are equally challenging. I sincerely thank all the technicians, artists and our producer for supporting me throughout this journey. “Choosing a classic title like ‘Missamma’ requires courage. The earlier ‘Missamma’ films featuring NTR garu and Bhumika garu were both way ahead of their time. We believed that our film too had that kind of strength. Our artists proved through their performances that the title ‘Modern Missamma’ is truly justified. Gopi Sundar garu’s music will be another major plus for the film. “We are not saying that people should not get married through this film. Rather, if you want to understand what is required before getting married, you must watch ‘Modern Missamma’.”
Producer Chiranjeevi Pamidi said, “‘Modern Missamma’ is the second film from our banner after ‘Calling Sahasra’. We did not get the result we expected from that film, but we strongly believe that this movie will receive a good response. Our hero Harsha has performed very well, and the heroine has also delivered an excellent performance. “We started this journey two years ago. Our intention was to make a film that suits the current trends, and we are very happy with the output. We completed the film within the planned time and budget. We consider that itself our first success. I thank everyone who worked on this film.”
DOP Sheshu said that ‘Modern Missamma’ is an important chapter in his career and that the hard work of the entire team resulted in a quality output. Choreographer Balakrishna expressed his happiness about composing the title song for the movie.
