One cannot really determine how two people perceive their relationship in private but when it comes into public eye, it does attract scrutiny. Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have become the new couple to face this scrutiny after Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, in previous season of Koffee With Karan.
Several people did name it as "Koffee Curse", as celebrity couples do end up facing much wider scrutiny than one can anticipate. They shared that Vijay asked her to ask him to marry her for 100 times and she did pursue him for over an year, before they finally found themselves tying the knot. Vijay explained that he took time to get around the idea of marriage and living together while Rashmika kept bringing up the topic all the time.
Later, Vijay stated that he got "so used to se.." and she makes him "so comfortable", that he cannot think about going back to bachelor life. Rashmika always kept stating that he is very cute, very friendly but some of his admissions did seem unnecessary and not really candid but did come across as "flexing".
So, the backlash is severe on the X with many sharing the clips and calling him, "Red Flag", calling the couple - "Two people in love with Vijay" and they are even calling Vijay, "narcissistic, too self-pleased, bad example of self-love" and calling Rashmika as "too much in love, too submissive, weird and mad."
As they say, for every couple it is their own, we cannot really talk about the "idealness" behind if they are perfect for eachother or not. But in public medium, it is important to be aware of how things can be portrayed and maintain some decorum to not be "too candid" or "too artificial". In any case, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika seem to be attracting more criticism, backlash than "romantic ideal couple", "couple goals", "cute couple" kind of reactions which they probable might have expected.
