Nayanthara, Regina Cassandra are starring in the visual mythological spectacle, Mahasakthi. The movie is the sequel to Mookuthi Amman with Nayanthara is playing the role of a Goddess. Regina is playing the role of a witch, who threatens the existence of God and wants the unlimited power awakening demonic powers.

Sundar C is directing the film and he is mounting this story in the same zone as his Aranmanai franchise but more direct war between Good and Evil. But the visuals do not have the similar finesse as his films, usually, have. The makers have used remarkable amount of VFX but none of them really make a mark.

Trailer looks too generic without a proper flow and the cameos hinted do not really grab the attention as the VFX work looks shabby. Normally, Sundar C plans to keep things to a minimum and rely on strong characters, comical sequences. The trailer looks more like rehash of many old ideas without the spark.

Nayanthara's looks and her performance are good. Regina is good too. Ishari Ganesh is producing the film while the budget and ambition are visible, the lack of finesse makes it an impact less one. Maybe the main film will surprise with better story flow and screenplay. Movie is releasing on 6th November for Diwali.
