Popular actor-star Pradeep Ranganathan is reportedly expanding his career beyond acting and direction by turning producer for a new film starring Mamitha Baiju in the lead role. The project is already creating curiosity among fans, especially after the strong response received by their previous collaboration.
Reportedly, the team has started filming in several real locations around Chennai. Reports also suggest that the shoot would be wrapped up quickly. Also, Mamitha Baiju is busy with multiple projects and she is set to wrap up Nivin Pauly's Betheleham Kudumba Unit in Premalu director Girish AD's direction and Fahad Fassil production at the same time as this one. Hence, she is juggling shooting schedules between Chennai and Keralam.
What makes the film even more interesting is the involvement of Ashwath Marimuthu, best known for directing Oh My Kadavule and Dragon. This time, however, Ashwath is said to be stepping in front of the camera for a prominent role in the film, as a police officer.
The upcoming project will be directed by one of Pradeep Ranganathan’s longtime assistants, and reportedly, it is a thriller that happens over a night. Pradeep taking up production and helping his assistants to become directors is being appreciated but some are advising he should not go down Gautham Vasudev Menon and Vetrimaaran route, who stopped their production houses.
Interestingly, another famous director-turning-actor Lokesh Kanagaraj has stated G Squad and his next big venture in LCU, Benz, is taking its own sweet time to finish. Well, there is no clarity about Pradeep Ranganathan appearance in the film. Will he take up a significant role, make a cameo appearance or stay behind the camera remains to be seen.
