No injury can stop me from being part of films like Peddi - Ram Charan

Jun 1, 2026 11:18PM

The pre-release event of Peddi in Vijayawada turned into a surprisingly emotional evening as the cast and crew spoke less about box-office expectations and more about what the film represents to them personally. Ahead of its worldwide release on June 4, the recurring ideas across the evening were identity, self-respect and resilience. Ram Charan called Vijayawada a fortunate destination for his family and said the atmosphere already felt closer to a success celebration than a promotional event.

Jagapathi Babu delivered one of the event’s standout moments by calling Peddi among the finest films of his career and predicting that his character Appalasoori would stay with audiences for a long time. Reflecting on his second innings, he admitted he never expected to receive such roles and credited director Buchi Babu Sana for creating characters that challenge actors creatively. He also remembered hearing Chiranjeevi proudly speak about Ram Charan’s character off-screen and said the actor’s growth as a person has matched his evolution on screen.

Janhvi Kapoor connected emotionally with the audience by speaking in Telugu and calling it her way of honouring her mother Sridevi’s language. Describing Peddi as a story about identity, she said acting remains her life’s calling and expressed her wish to continue entertaining audiences for years to come. She praised Ram Charan’s infectious energy on set and called Buchi Babu the most passionate director she has worked with, expressing confidence that audiences will connect strongly with the film’s theatrical experience.

Producer Venkata Satish Kilaru shifted attention to the effort behind the making of the film and revealed that Ram Charan continued shooting despite suffering injuries and may eventually require surgery. Calling himself indebted to the actor for giving him his first opportunity as a producer, he also appreciated the entire crew, including A.R. Rahman, and described Peddi as the story of an ordinary man reaching extraordinary heights.

Closing the evening, Ram Charan brought the focus back to the film’s emotional core and summed up the night with a line that drew one of the loudest responses: he wants to dedicate his life to working in films like Peddi. He remarked that no injury can stop him from being part of such incredible human stories. He said the project reminded him of the excitement and creative fulfilment that made him fall in love with cinema and described it as a story built on resilience and self-respect. Thanking audiences for their support, he entrusted the film to them and asked them to carry its spirit into theatres when it releases worldwide.
