Idupu Kayitham movie starring Priyadarshi and Naga Durga, has been drawing huge attention in a wrong way for the depiction of serving of alcohol at the wedding event. In the new song Gadapa, the makers showcased post wedding event, alcohol being served at the function directly in the lunch. 

This depiction came across as normalising alcohol consumption and highlighting it as a common thing in Telangana weddings and events. While majority of the Telangana people agreed for non-veg being served at the wedding, they objected for this glorifying of alcohol consumption that too at the event as if part of lunch. 

They have been objecting it stating that it reduces Telangana hospitality and culture to just drinking alcohol and eating non-veg at festive occasions while there is a lot more to it. The song does picturise new daughter-in-law entry into the household and people welcoming her in front of everyone. 

But this over the top depiction of alcohol consumption has become a reason for backlash stating that while drinking alcohol is normal but people do it away from main event and not part of the lunch as if making a beverage served with food. In any case, Idupu Kayitham did receive attention and buzz from the song. The movie is directed by Vamsi Reddy Dondapati and produced by Bunny Vas, Thabitha Sukumar aiming for 11th December release.
