Devi Sri Prasad is set to make his acting debut with Yellamma, an intense rural drama directed by Balagam fame Venu Yeladandi. The makers have announced March 5 as the film's release date on the occasion of Dasara, locking the date initially associated with Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit.

Presented by Dil Raju and produced by Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Yellamma is envisioned as an emotionally intense drama rooted in rural life and human relationships. Venu, who earned critical acclaim for Balagam, is directing DSP in his first full-fledged acting venture.

Apart from playing the lead role, DSP is also composing the music for the film. The celebrated music director, who has delivered successful albums across multiple languages over the past three decades, has reportedly explored traditional rural sounds to create a distinctive musical experience for the film.

The shoot is progressing at a rapid pace, and the makers are planning a pan-Indian theatrical release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. With Yellamma now scheduled for March first week, the film is positioned to open the Summer box-office season.
