Venkatesh Maha has announced his next directorial venture Attahaasam, unveiling the title and first look of the film on Tuesday. Set in the filmmaker’s familiar world of Kancharapalem, the film appears to explore another rooted and unconventional story, with the first look introducing its characters without revealing much about the plot.
The first look features Venkatesh Maha alongside Sravanthi Peepakayala in one portion, while Karthik Ratnam and Pavani Karanam are seen together in another. Maha appears in a police avatar, but the poster deliberately keeps the nature of the characters and their relationships under wraps, leaving the story open to speculation.

Attahaasam marks Venkatesh Maha’s return to the director’s chair after his earlier acclaimed work, with the filmmaker once again serving as the writer and also taking on a role in the film. The project is presented by Chinta Varalaxmi and produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy and Rajashekar Reddy Chinta, with Chinta Vineesha Reddy as co-producer.
Karthik Ratnam, Pavani Karanam and Sravanthi Peepakayala play key roles, while Smaran Sai is composing the music. The makers are planning to bring Attahaasam to theatres in Summer 2027.
