Varun Tej's upcoming horror comedy Korean Kanakaraju is finally heading to theatres on August 7. The makers officially announced the release date with a new poster featuring the actor in an energetic avatar, signalling that promotions for the film are entering the final phase.
Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, Korean Kanakaraju has generated curiosity ever since its announcement because of its unusual cross-cultural premise. The film blends horror and comedy while exploring a story that unfolds across different cultures, making it one of the more unconventional Telugu releases this year. A major portion of the film has been shot in Vietnam, with the team choosing several unexplored international locations to give the film a fresh visual appeal.
The promotional campaign has also worked in the film's favour. The first single, "Kamsahamnida," composed by Thaman S and sung by Sid Sriram, turned into a popular chartbuster and added to the buzz surrounding the project. The latest release date poster further hints at the film's colourful and entertaining tone.

Apart from Varun Tej, the film stars Ritika Nayak as the female lead, while comedian Satya plays a key role. Given the success of Satya's comic timing in recent years, his combination with Varun Tej is expected to be one of the major highlights of the film.
Backed by UV Creations, Korean Kanakaraju is aiming to capitalise on the beginning of the festive season. With an offbeat premise, overseas backdrop and a strong promotional response so far, the film will be looking to translate the pre-release buzz into box office success.
