The ongoing dispute between Tollywood exhibitors and producers over the percentage system continues to escalate. Following the exhibitors' press meet on May 12th and the producers' counter on May 13th, the issue took a personal turn with producer Naga Vamsi taking digs at Asian Suniel, leading to a strong "fake wig" retort from the latter. Today, theater owners, notably without Shirish Reddy and Suniel, addressed the media again to counter the producers and clarify their stance.

The theater owners declared that they have emerged much stronger post-Covid and are fully prepared to shut down cinemas for months or even a year until the percentage revenue system is implemented. They strongly denied targeting the upcoming film Peddi, accusing the producers of unnecessarily dragging the movie into the equation to divert attention from the core issue. The owners expressed their desire for an amicable resolution and openly welcomed industry bigwigs like Chiranjeevi to intervene and help settle the matter, which has been delayed for over a year.

Adding to this, C. Kalyan stated that the Film Chamber will urge producers to agree to the percentage system during tomorrow's critical meeting. He confirmed that a grading system across various areas has already been introduced and that they are ready for its comprehensive implementation. Kalyan expressed confidence that tomorrow's meeting will not be delayed further and will serve as the crucial first step in finding a permanent solution.
