Ravi Teja and filmmaker Vivek Athreya are collaborating for the first time on a film titled Thulabaram. Following Irumudi, Ravi Teja takes on a crime comedy that combines crime, drama and humour.

The makers announced the title through a creatively conceived Title Documentary that introduces the film’s premise and a new image for the lead actor. Moving away from his familiar Mass Maharaja identity, Ravi Teja is presented as Crime Maharaja, with the transition described as Nava Ravitejamu. The video uses a chaotic, unconventional format to establish the film’s tone.

The cast includes Priyanka Mohan as Krishnaveni, JD Chakravarthy as Sivaji Rao, Tharun Bhascker as Devaraj, Anaswara Rajan as Sound, Anil Karella as Jadeja and Ravi Anthony as Robin. Vivek Sagar is composing the music.

The film was formally launched with a pooja ceremony attended by members of the Telugu film industry. V V Vinayak handed over the script, Sree Vishnu sounded the clapboard, Chandu switched on the camera, and My Home Ram unveiled the title. Directors Siva Nirvana and Bobby directed the first shot. Produced by Laxman and Srini Rao, Thulabaram is expected to begin regular shooting shortly.
