Sharwa's period drama Bhogi postponed due to VFX delay

Aug 20, 2026 4:02PM

Sharwanand's upcoming period action drama, Bhogi, has been postponed to allow the post-production team more time to perfect the film's extensive visual effects. Directed by Sampath Nandi, the film is set in a fictional village on the Telangana-Maharashtra border during the early 1960s.

Because the narrative heavily relies on this rustic period backdrop, the makers have opted against rushing the theatrical release. Instead, they are prioritizing the CGI and VFX output to ensure it seamlessly integrates with the practical footage and maintains visual authenticity.

The production team recently concluded a massive 30-day schedule dedicated to the film's climax, which was filmed on a specially erected large-scale set. With only a small portion of principal photography remaining, the primary focus has shifted to post-production.

Produced by KK Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner, Bhogi  features Sharwanand in a physically transformed role as Ganga, starring alongside female leads Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi. The technical crew includes cinematographer Kishor Kumar and music director Bheems Ceciroleo. The production house is expected to announce a revised release date once the visual effects work reaches its final stages.
