Urmila Is A Painting, RGV Is Frame

The other day, September 8th, marked the 20th anniversary of Ram Gopal Varma's best ever film "Rangeela". Quite ecstatic about the event, the maverick director who is reeling with flops these days, has confessed that he was mesmerised by heroine Urmila Matondkar then.

"I was mesmerised with Urmila and her beauty. Her face to her figure to her personality to her persona to everything else about her was just divinity for me. She's a painting and I was the frame maker. A painting has a meaning only if its contained in a frame and a frame doesn't have a meaning without a painting in it.But for a painting to be truly relished apart from the frame containing it,it also needs a right place to be displayed and that place was Rangeela", said Ramu. That's more exaggeration than anything, but still we could understand his love for the film and the film's heroine.

Rangeela features Urmila, Amir Khan and Jackie Shroff in the leads, and the film is a runaway hit. Also it got a huge break for RGV in Bollywood while AR Rahman too get shot into big league.
