SS Rajamouli has shared a significant update on Varanasi, his ambitious action-adventure starring Superstar Mahesh Babu. Speaking about the film's progress, the visionary director revealed that the team has successfully wrapped the massive IMAX action episodes shot in Varanasi.
Rajamouli stated that only the dramatic portions of the Varanasi schedule are left to be filmed. He added that the production is progressing exactly as planned, with everything firmly on track for the film's worldwide release on April 7, 2027.
Mounted on a grand scale, the film is being designed as a visual spectacle, with several sequences filmed exclusively for the IMAX format to offer an immersive theatrical experience. With the technically challenging action blocks now completed, the team will focus on wrapping up the remaining emotional and dramatic scenes before moving to the next stage of production.
Rajamouli's reassurance about the schedule has also put to rest any speculation regarding potential delays. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran are playing other leading roles in the movie. MM Keeravaani is composing music for this larger-than-life mythological time travel film.
