Nivin Pauly and Dulquer Salmaan sharing the screen again could be one of the most exciting possibilities in Malayalam cinema. The two actors, who have been friends and contemporaries for years, recently met at an event and, according to Nivin, ended up discussing several personal matters and things they had wanted to tell each other. Interestingly, they later realised that despite their equation, they had not properly discussed working together in a film for more than a decade.
That conversation has now opened the possibility of a proper Nivin-Dulquer reunion. Nivin revealed that the two actors have expressed interest in doing a film together if a script comes along that genuinely satisfies both of them. Their last major collaboration was Bangalore Days, which also featured Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim and Parvathy, and remains one of Malayalam cinema’s most loved ensemble films.
Nivin also revealed an interesting gesture from Dulquer while discussing his current projects. Although Dulquer’s I’m Game was originally positioned alongside Bethlehem Kudumba Unit for the Onam season, he still appreciated Nivin and his film. I’m Game was subsequently postponed by two weeks and is now scheduled to release on September 3.
The conversation also comes at an important point in Nivin’s career. The actor recently spoke about the delay surrounding Benz, revealing that around 35 days of shooting are still pending and that he had wanted to remove his beard for Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and his next film, but could not get clarity from the team.
For now, there is no film officially announced for the duo. But the fact that Nivin and Dulquer themselves are open to sharing the screen again makes the possibility far more interesting. After more than a decade, it may only take the right script to bring this much-loved combination back together.
