Ever since Dhurandhar and its follow-up turned into a massive discussion point, the film has attracted reactions beyond box office numbers. Like many politically interpreted films in recent years, conversations around its writing and intent started growing alongside its success. One such claim that kept circulating online was that the script felt too detailed and too sharp to have come through regular development, with jokes suggesting it must have come directly from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has now reacted to those conversations and dismissed the speculation. Speaking at a recent interaction, Bedi treated the claim more as a byproduct of audience reaction than something to be taken literally. According to him, when a film connects strongly with people, such narratives begin appearing around it.
Interestingly, Bedi also spoke about director Aditya Dhar’s process and revealed that the filmmaker was initially cautious about revealing too much of his character’s internal arc and suspense portions during development. The actor further mentioned contributing certain lighter moments into the role even though the film’s tone was designed to remain controlled.
The discussion arrives at a time when Dhurandhar continues to be analysed not just as a commercial success but also for how audiences are reading its political undertones. Bedi, however, appears to be placing the focus back on filmmaking and audience engagement rather than theories around where the ideas originated.
