NTRNEEL Glimpse: Dragon breathes fire

May 19, 2026

To celebrate NTR’s birthday, fans were treated to a massive 4-minute and 28-second glimpse from his highly anticipated film, Dragon. Produced on a grand scale by Mythri Movie Makers and Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao Arts, the project boasts a formidable ensemble. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, features NTR in the lead role of Luger, sharing the screen with celebrated actors like Anil Kapoor as Raghuveer Rathod, Ashutosh Rana as Dada Sarkar, Biju Menon as Jameel, and Rukmini Vasanth.

With this extensive glimpse, director Prashanth Neel seems to have consciously corrected a narrative misstep from Salaar Part-1: Ceasefire. By choosing not to hold back the heavy lore, he avoids the trap of confusing the theatrical audience with too much information at once. Instead, he smartly uses this exposition-heavy video to introduce the dense background of the story and set it up clearly. This allows the audience to easily digest the complex history long before stepping into the cinema.

The ambitious scale and expansive detailing of Neel's vision take center stage in this setup. Grounded in a 1967 backdrop involving the global opium trade, the dark aesthetics undeniably feel like an extended Salaar premise. Furthermore, Neel remains firmly in his familiar KGF zone, taking a smuggler as his hero and elevating him to the terrifying status of a devil. The world is filled with massive stakes and dangerous players, but the narrative focus remains firmly anchored to the central anti-hero.

What truly stands out, however, is Prashanth Neel's impressive ability to present a completely different NTR. As Luger, NTR completely sheds the familiar aura of his previous films, stepping into a rugged, intense, and menacing avatar. His raw, dark look perfectly matches the brutal world Neel has crafted, leaving a striking impact and promising a ruthless character that audiences have never witnessed before. Ravi Basrur BGM feels International and the Dragon is releasing globally on 11th June 2027.
