Real Reason Behind Manam Losing Nandi Award

Many wonder why a great film like Manam didn’t win Nandi award. Curiously, Natasimha Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Legend won Nandi Award for the year 2014, in sturdy competition with Manam. Here is the reason why Manam wasn’t given the award, though the movie was accolade by critics as well as audience.

It is learnt that, films with re-birth or similar genre won’t be given Nandi Award, as per their terms and conditions. Earlier films like Ammoru, Arundhati, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Yama Donga, Magadheera and few other movies of the genre didn’t win Nandi Award in best film category because of the reason. Interestingly, these films won awards in different categories other than best film category.

As we all know, Akkineni family’s prestigious film Manam was made of re-birth concept. Thus, this might be the reason for the movie losing the award to Legend.
