Mythri to open World First Single Screen Dolby Cinema

Apr 16, 2026

Hyderabad’s cinematic landscape is poised for a significant upgrade with the introduction of the world’s first single-screen Dolby Cinema. Mythri has recently acquired a stake in the Ranga Theater located in Jeedimetla and is currently undertaking extensive renovations to equip the venue with advanced Dolby technology.

This ambitious project comes with an estimated investment of Rs.13 to 14 crores, reflecting a substantial commitment to enhancing the local movie-going experience. The revamped theater will feature a 635-seat auditorium. While the screen size will be slightly more compact than multiplex counterparts like Allu Cinemas, it will remain exceptionally large for a single-screen setup.

Beyond the technical upgrades, the renovation focuses heavily on patron comfort. The property will include premium seating, modern interiors, improved parking facilities, and dedicated food and beverage counters spread across two floors.

Set to open by the end of this year, the modernized Ranga Theater is strategically positioned to serve film enthusiasts across Jeedimetla, Kukatpally, Suraram, Kompally, and Balanagar. In a related development, Mythri is also revamping the Ganga theater in Dilsukhnagar, signaling a broader push to revitalize standalone cinemas across the city.
