Mahakali has unveiled its grand glimpse, offering a striking look at the ambitious mythological spectacle from the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. More importantly, the makers have locked 8th January, for its theatrical release, bringing the film into the Sankranti festive race.
Titled Shukracharya’s WarCry, the glimpse puts Akshaye Khanna at the centre of the spectacle. Playing Shukracharya, the formidable guru of the Asuras, Khanna appears in a fierce and unrecognizable avatar. His intense gaze and commanding presence immediately create curiosity about the character and the role he will play in the impending war.
The glimpse hints at a conflict far bigger than a conventional battle between good and evil. The clash between Dharma and Adharma appears to have consequences for an entire mythological universe, with ominous imagery, elaborate world-building and striking visual effects establishing the scale of the story. The final moments of the glimpse particularly stand out with a goosebumps-inducing visual.
Written by Prasanth Varma and directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, Mahakali expands the universe established with HanuMan. Sriya Reddy, Bhoomi Shetty and Rohit Saraf are also part of the prominent cast. Produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios, Mahakali has become one of the notable releases entering the Sankranti 2027 season.
