Kangana Ranaut has entered the ongoing controversy surrounding Trisha Krishnan and the remarks that dragged the actress into a political fight in Tamil Nadu. Without directly naming Trisha, Kangana questioned why women are so often made the target when rumours or alleged relationships involve two people.

Speaking to reporters in Kullu, the actor-turned-politician pointed to the recent Tamil Nadu controversy and said that while a relationship involves both parties, abuse and character assassination are disproportionately directed at the woman. 

She argued that this pattern is not restricted to India and is often used against successful women, actors, politicians and those in positions of power. The controversy gained momentum after DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin made a remark at a Cauvery protest that was widely interpreted as a double entendre involving Trisha. 

Udhayanidhi later maintained that he had not named the actress, while the comment triggered political and public backlash. A case was registered against him following the controversy. The issue has also been addressed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, who recently warned against personal attacks and derogatory comments targeting women during a speech in the Assembly.
