Vijay Deverakonda has decided against ticket price hikes for his films, stating that cinema should remain accessible to audiences across all sections. The actor revealed his stance while interacting with the media ahead of his upcoming film Ranabaali, which is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16.
Vijay recalled how rising ticket prices affected him during his intermediate college days and said the experience influenced his decision. He intends to speak to producers and directors to ensure that his films are released without ticket price hikes.
“I still remember how difficult it was for me when movie ticket prices increased during my intermediate days. That is why I decided to speak to producers and directors and ensure there are no ticket price hikes for my films,” Vijay said.

The actor added that affordable ticket prices would encourage more people to watch films in theatres. “Cinema should reach more people. Only when ticket prices are affordable to ordinary audiences will more people come to theatres. Rather than making more money from fewer people, what matters to me is that crores of people watch films in theatres,” he explained.
Vijay's comments come amid continued debate over ticket price hikes for big-budget Telugu films. The makers of Ranabaali had earlier clarified that reports of a proposed ticket price hike were false and confirmed that the film would release at standard ticket prices across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Presented by T-Series and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the period action drama is gearing up for its Dasara release.
