Comedian Gundu Hanumantha No More

Well-known Telugu comedian Gundu Hanumantha Rao (61) passed away today at his residence in Erragadda, Hyderabad due to heart related problem. He breathed his last at around 3:30 AM. His final rites will take place today in Erragadda burial ground today. He is survived by his son.

Gundu Hanumantha Rao made his acting debut with Jandhyala's film Aha Naa Pellanta in 1987 and gained popularity in comedian roles in SV Krishna Reddy's films. He got 3 TV Nandi Awards from Andhra Pradesh Government. One of them is for the famous "Amrutham" serial. 

He was a famous stage drama artiste before entering into cinema, his first drama "Ravana Bramha" at the age of 18. He acted in over 400 movies in Telugu and is a popular TV artist.

Gundu Hanumantha Rao was in sweets business before stepping into the industry. In 2014, he joined Chitti Babu Punyamurthula and Pinki at rallies in support of the Telugu Desam Party. His campaign in the rallies added humor and provided comic relief to the people.

When Chiranjeevi got to know about Gundu Hanumantha Rao’s unhealthy condition, the megastar promised to assist him financially. Unfortunately, Gundu breathed his last today.
