GV Prakash Kumar is known for his award-winning work, and the composer is now hoping to add another National Award to his list with Ravi Teja’s Irumudi. Ahead of the film’s August 21st release, the music composer spoke with strong confidence about the Shiva Nirvana directorial. He went beyond calling it a good film and predicted multiple National Awards for it.
Interestingly, he is quite specific about where he sees the recognition coming from. GV Prakash believes Irumudi has the potential to win Best Regional Film as well as Best Child Artist, apart from other possible honours. He also called the film his favourite Ravi Teja film after Vikramarkudu and expressed confidence that it will become a memorable and trendsetting film for Telugu cinema.
The composer revealed that Irumudi presented a different musical challenge as the story brings together devotion, psychology, crime, action and family emotions. He described Yalalo as the soul of the film, while Mallepoola Pallaki was recorded with the original singer and group to preserve its authentic devotional flavour. He also revealed that Ravi Teja particularly loves the climax song.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Irumudi stars Priya Bhavani Shankar and Baby Nakshatra in important roles. GV Prakash praised Shiva Niravana's unique narrative calling it the director's most serious film and he stated that the screenplay is terrific. With censor reports also pointing to film being a sure-shot winner, it would be interesting to see how it delivers post release.
