DC Trailer: Ani rocks and Loki is good

May 15, 2026

Lokesh Kanagaraj makes a strong impression in front of the camera, proving his acting abilities are spot on for a gritty lead role. Sharing the screen, Wamiqa Gabbi is equally compelling, delivering a grounded performance that anchors the emotional weight of the film.

The story offers a different take on the classic Devdas romance, introducing a Chandramukhi-like twist where both characters actively choose each other to survive. The core premise revolves around these two downtrodden individuals taking a stand against system-based officers, triggering a massive police pursuit. Thematically, this narrative setup feels akin to Adivi Sesh's Dacoit, dealing with rebels going against the grain.

However, the visual aesthetic is entirely different. Director Arun Matheswaran stays true to the grim style of his earlier films, Captain Miller and Rocky. He once again delivers an unapologetic, high-violence, blood-bath movie with raw and intense cinematography.

Driving this on-screen chaos is the standout work of Anirudh Ravichander, who has outdone his recent albums with a highly experimental score. He seamlessly amalgamates traditional Hindustani classical music with modern-day, high-octane electronic beats. This unique blending of contrasting genres drives the trailer's pacing, providing a rhythmic intensity that perfectly frames the action.
