Sree Vishnu’s upcoming film Comrade Kalyan has unveiled its trailer, giving a clearer look at the film’s unusual backdrop and its blend of comedy, romance and action. Directed by Janakiram Marella, the film revolves around Kalyan, whose life takes an unexpected turn as he becomes a most-wanted Naxalite.

The trailer introduces Kalyan’s personal world before bringing the larger conflict into focus. He falls in love with an Odisha girl, played by Mahima Nambiar, while his mother, portrayed by Radhikaa Sarathkumar, is presented as an ardent NBK fan with a short temper. The story takes a serious turn when a police officer begins pursuing Kalyan, raising questions about what led him to become a Naxalite and what exactly he has done to land on the police radar.

Despite the serious backdrop, the trailer retains Sree Vishnu’s trademark humour and dialogue-driven entertainment. His one-liners and distinctive dialogue delivery remain central to the film, with Satya, Vennela Kishore and Sudharshan adding to the comic portions. The trailer suggests that the film will balance its action and dramatic elements with the lighter treatment associated with Sree Vishnu’s entertainers.

Mahima Nambiar and Radhikaa Sarathkumar get moments that stand out, while Vijai Bulganin’s music, including the already released songs Oh Oriya Pilla and Intha Istama, adds to the film’s appeal. Produced by Seetha Karnati and Venkata Krishna Karnati, with Kona Venkat presenting the film, Comrade Kalyan is scheduled to release in theatres on October 9.
