Can Mahavatar Narasimha succeed unlike Rajini's Kochadaiiyaan?

on Jul 1, 2025

Renowned production house Hombale Films in association with Kleem Productions is bringing Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, based on Maha Vishnu's Dashavatars. The team has announced that the first film out of the Universe, Mahavatar Narasimha, is releasing on 25th July 2025.

The movie team have released Hiranyakashipu Promo, introducing the Asura, who challenged Gods and tried to bring entire Universe under his control. The character design in this animated feature, the definitions, background and 3D animation look grand but give gaming visuals feel.

Ashwin Kumar is directing the film and Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, Chaitanya Desai are producing this devotional epic. The movie is making these legendary epic stories of Maha Vishnu in 3D animation format. Rajinikanth made such a huge attempt with Kochadaiiyaan in direction of his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth.

While KS Ravi Kumar's story seemed to have potential to become a blockbuster, the movie did not find the same level of appreciation from audiences like a normal live-action film of the actor. Now, the makers have plans to continue this Mahavatar Cinematic Universe till 2037 and we have to see how this film will perform at box office.

Films like Chota Bheem, Mahabharat, Krishna aur Kans, Mayabazaar 3D have been released in complete animation format but they did not really become huge successes. While Japanese films have anime and Hollywood have animation films, Indian films did not find such market. This Indian MCU needs to start this trend.
